For most of his history Black Panther
was considered ‘peak human’, which carries a rather different meaning
in comics in general and Marvel especially than one might expect; our
laws of physics don't permit things like light speed reflexes or the
ability to loose Mach 438 arrows or the ability to outrace explosions or
the ability to judo throw rhinos or the ability to casually crack
concrete pillars that can be seen in some of Marvel’s peak humans. Nor
for that matter the ability to deflect bullets with one's bare hands and
kick decades-old trees in half like we see in DC.
Later Black Panther
and Captain America were retconned to be considered just above peak
human. Of course, since the speed and strength of comic book peak humans
is largely defined by skill, someone who manages to somehow exceed the
skill of two of the most skilled fighters on Earth, like Taskmaster, can
still keep up with them, despite lacking even a marginally superhuman
physique.
Quite recently, Black Panther
received a pretty major power boost. He is now the King of the Dead,
and thus has the combined strength, speed, durability, intellect,
skills, and memories of every Black Panther
throughout history. Actually quantifying what this means has yet to be
managed, but from what's been seen so far, calling him roughly
physically even with the Thing seems like a reasonable assumption. In
any case, the King of the Dead is inarguably beyond the limits of any
baseline human, no matter how skilled, and is thus officially superhuman
by Marvel standards.
